What is B.Sc?

Bachelor of Science, popularly known as B.Sc, is an undergraduate degree program specialising in science subjects. A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree is mainly awarded to students in the areas of Natural Sciences and Mathematics . The B.Sc degree course is offered in yearly as well typically of 3 year duration. A B.Sc degree is the first step and foundation course for students having interest in science and aspire to make a career in science and its allied subjects.

B.Sc Eligibility

Students seeking admission in B.Sc degree are required to fulfill some basic requirements before they get admission in any institutes. The requirements are listed below

• Students need to have passed/studying in class 12 or its equivalent exam from any recognised institution.

• Some institutions also have restrictions on minimum percentage requirements ranging from 50 to 60% while many institutes require just a pass class in class 12.

• There is no restriction on age but a few institutions also have eligibility conditions for age.

• Students belonging to reserved category are provided with relaxations in percentage and age.

Beside the above mentioned basic requirements, there are course specific requirements. For example, students seeking admission in B.Sc  must have studied Mathematics  as one of the subjects in class 12. Similarly for admission in B.Sc Mathematics, students need to have Mathematics as one of the subjects in class 12. There are also some B.Sc courses which are open to all science and Mathematics candidates . Students can check the requirement for admission of any specific institute from its admission portal.

There are some specifically designed courses as per the requirement in certain fields Admission in these courses are based on strict  requirements beside academic and age eligibility conditions.
