B.Sc full form is Bachelor of Science. The latin word for B.Sc is Baccalaureus ScientiaeB.Sc degree is like a foundation course for all the candidates who wish to pursue a career in the field of science.

    Types of B.Sc

A bachelor's degree in science or B.Sc is of two types depending up on the mode of study

  1. Regular

A regular B.Sc degree is the one where candidates have to visit the college regularly and a certain minimum percentage of attendance is compulsory.

B.Sc Bio- Gropu degree is a program which develops advanced theoretical and research skills leading to specialization in one of the subjects studied during the entire degree course. The honours programs are taken by students who wish to pursue Master of Science (M.Sc) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and a research or academic career. For example, B.Sc Botany, B.Sc Zoology, B.Sc Biotechnology etc.

A B.Sc general or B.Sc pass or simply "B.Sc" is an academic degree designed to provide the students with foundation knowledge possible for a science-based career. For example, B.Sc Biology, B.Sc Zoology.

B.Sc Eligibility

Students seeking admission in B.Sc degree are required to fulfill some basic requirements before they get admission in any institutes. The requirements are listed below

  • Students need to have passed/studying in class 12 or its equivalent exam from any recognised institution.

  • Some institutions also have restrictions on minimum percentage requirements ranging from 50 to 60% while many institutes require just a pass class in class 12.

  • There is no restriction on age but a few institutions also have eligibility conditions for age.

  • Students belonging to reserved category are provided with relaxations in percentage and age.

Beside the above mentioned basic requirements, there are course specific requirements. For example, students seeking admission in B.Sc Biology must have studied Biology as one of the subjects in class 12. Similarly for admission in B.Sc students need to have Biology as one of the subjects in class 12. There are also some B.Sc courses which are open to all science candidates irrespective of their subjects like B.Sc in Biology. Students can check the requirement for admission of any specific institute from its admission portal.

There are some specifically designed courses as per the requirement in certain fields like B.Sc Zoology, B.Sc in Marine Biology. Admission in these courses are based on strict medical requirements beside academic and age eligibility conditions.
